Mark has over 18 years of industry, research, and consulting experience in the areas of employee selection, interviewing, test validation, program design and implementation, management and executive assessment and coaching, training and organizational development, focus group facilitation, and survey design and analysis. He also contracted with the Human Resources department at the Tennessee Valley Authority for several years, working on programs such as 360-degree feedback, organizational climate assessment, assessment centers, and cultural diversity. Mark received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Ph.D. in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from the University of Tennessee.
For the past 13 years, Mark has managed an independent consulting practice. In his practice, he has experience and expertise using a variety of skill, ability, competency, and personality assessment tools to provide clients with valid feedback, including work samples, assessment center methods, personality inventories, 360-degree feedback interviews, personal interviews, and critical thinking appraisals. Mark has worked with such clients as the Tennessee Valley Authority, Tennessee State Government, Tennessee Assessment Center, Personnel Assessment Systems, Ohio Casualty Group, Remy International, Barry M. Cohen Associates, PCI Human Resources, Knoxville Utilities Board, W.N. Lockwood & Associates, Right Management, UPS, the Center for Business and Economic Development at Auburn University, the Leadership Development Institute at Indiana University, the University of Georgia Terry College of Business, the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, Kelley Executive Partners, and the Randall L. Tobias Center for Leadership.
Mark has also written and co-written several articles on leadership, mentoring, coaching, career development, and performance appraisal that have appeared in multiple academic journals. He is a co-author for of the book Designing Workplace Mentoring Programs: An Evidence-Based Approach. He has also presented his research at the annual conferences for the Southern Management Association, Academy of Management, Society for Industry and Organizational Psychology, Southeastern Psychological Association, and International Congress on Assessment Center Methods. Mark is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He resides in Tampa, FL.
